Nearby Friends collects precise location data to provide real-time location sharing and proximity alerts. This is the core functionality of the App.
Background Collection: This data is collected and processed even when the app is closed or not in use, provided that the tracking notification (Persistent Tracking) is active. This allows the App to send you alerts when friends are nearby and update your position for your friends even if you are using other apps or your screen is off.

- Precise Location Data: We collect your GPS coordinates to show your position on your friends' maps and to trigger proximity alerts.
- Contacts: With your permission, we access your contact list to identify other users you may know who are also using Nearby Friends. We do not store your entire contact list on our servers permanently.
- User Profile: Information you provide during registration, such as your name, email address, phone number, and profile picture.
- Device Information: Basic information about your mobile device for notification delivery and app optimization.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Location Sharing: To share your real-time location with friends you have explicitly accepted.
- Proximity Alerts: To notify you when an accepted friend is within a certain distance of your current location.
- Location Reminders: To trigger alerts you have set for specific geographical areas.
- Social Connectivity: To help you find and connect with friends via your contact list.
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We value your privacy and do not sell your personal data. Your information is shared only in the following ways:
- With Friends: Your precise location is shared ONLY with users you have explicitly accepted as "Friends" in the App.
- Service Providers: We use third-party services like Google Firebase for data storage and synchronization, and Google Maps to display location data. These providers have access to your information only to perform these tasks on our behalf.
5. User Control and Data Deletion
You have full control over your data:
- Stop Tracking: You can stop location collection at any time by toggling off "Persistent Tracking" in the App settings or by revoking location permissions in your device settings.
- Permissions: You can grant or revoke location and contact permissions at any time via your device's privacy settings.
- Account Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data directly within the App settings or by contacting us.
